Benitez knocks back Madrid

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has set his sights on toppling the Chelsea after pledging his future to Anfield.

Benitez has allegedly knocked back a move to Real Madrid after committing himself to Merseyside until 2010.

Benitez said: “The Premier League is the target for next season. It will be difficult but that is the aim.

“In football nothing is impossible. When people saw us draw Benfica they said it would be easy.

“Last season some said it would be the same for Chelsea and Juventus against us — in the end we won the Champions League.”
