Upson hoping for quick returnNew West Ham defender Matthew Upson is hoping to return from his calf injury as soon as possible as the club battle to avoid relegation from the Premiership.
He said: “It’s not all doom and gloom, it’s not the end of the world. I just landed off balance and put strain through my calf.
“I don’t think it’s a major, major problem, just a tightness.
“There is nothing I can do about it — other than think positively and get back as quick as I can.”
He added: “When I was sitting on the ground my emotion was just disappointment.
“I’m desperate to play and desperate to keep this club in the Premiership. That’s what I’ve been brought here to do and I feel an obligation to want to do that.”
