Trotters favourite goes under the knife

Bolton veteran Gary Speed will go under the knife next week on a troublesome knee ligament injury.

Bolton’s Welsh midfield star, 36, has missed two games.

Boss Sam Allardyce said: “The next step is to go into the knee and see why it is not clearing up.”
