Tottenham set for deadline day shock swoopSpurs boss Martin Jol will make a transfer deadline day deal today when he lands Danny Murphy from Charlton.
Murphy will move across London in a part-exchange deal with Charlton that sees Anthony Gardner going the other way.
Charlton boss Alan Curbishley paid Liverpool £2.5million for former England midfielder Murphy, 29, in August 2004 and he earned rave reviews at the start of this season.
But his form has tailed off recently and he can now leave The Valley with £1.5m-rated Gardner joining the Addicks, who first asked about him last season.
