Toon star will go one more yearBefore calling time on his playing career in the summer of 2007, Newcastle United Lee Clark will play one more season.
The 32-year-old, who began his career with The Magpies back in 1989, is keen on moving into management once he hangs up his boots.
A career in coaching has always been on Clark's mind and the former Fulham and Sunderland man is keen to make the transition.
Clark told The Journal: "For the last few years, as I've got older, I've tried to set myself a strict target and follow a certain career path,
"As a result I've earmarked next season as my last as a player. After that I want to focus fully on the coaching and management side of things.
"I've always been interested in coaching. It isn't just something that has crept up on me as I've grown older.
"I used to help out with boys clubs' teams even as a young lad and I've developed a keener interest since then. It's been in my mind for a long time."
