Toon duo return to actionGraeme Souness yesterday returned from a player’s break to Dubai boosted by the news that Celestine Babayaro and Shola Ameobi could be fit to return after the international break.
Souness told The Journal: "Shola and Celestine have both been working very hard,
"They were both having double training sessions out in Dubai and we are confident they will both be involved against Aston Villa."
"Robbie Elliott is also back in training, so our only long-term injury is Titus Bramble and he is working desperately hard to get back in time for the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United."
"It has been another good trip. We won eight and drew one following our last trip out to Dubai and hopefully we can come back and go on an equally good run this time."
"We've got a lot of very important games coming up and we felt we needed to give everyone a rest before we go into the run-in."
