Toon defender leavesRepublic of Ireland defender Andy O'Brien has signed for Portsmouth on a four-year deal from Newcastle United for £2m.
O’Brien spent four years on Tyneside after joining from Bradford for £1m in 2001, making 172 appearances.
Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie said he was delighted to sign O'Brien.
He said: "We have signed a first-class player who has played at the top for both club and country and has a very prominent record.”
