Toffees winger ready for battleEverton winger come striker James McFadden has vowed to push for a spot in the starting team at Goodison after he penned a three-year extension to his current deal.
He said: "I have stated from the beginning I wanted to stay, but when you are negotiating sometimes things don't go as smoothly as you like.
"But I am delighted to be signing for another three years."
"There is healthy competition but I don't think it is beyond me to get into the team and be playing every week, although I have quality players ahead of me the club has paid a lot of money for.
"But it is not unattainable and that is my target.
"I want to be seen as a striker but if I am called upon to play in midfield I will be happy to do so."
