Toffees star ready for HenryEverton defender David Weir will attempt to nullify the threat of Thierry Henry when Scotland faces World Cup finalists France in their Euro 2008 qualifier.
Weir, who has only played 7 minutes for his club Everton this season said: “Obviously it would’ve been nice to have been playing all the time.
“But you can either look at that negatively or you can look at it positively — and I look at it positively. I am fresh and looking forward to games rather than maybe being tired and dragging myself through them.
“Time will tell how much I was able to take from playing for the reserves the other night. But it’s the next best thing.
“I did it before the last international and I got the benefit of it. I just want to do a similar thing again.”
On the impending showdown with Arsenal star Henry Weir added: “I’m not going to say that I’m the answer to stopping Thierry Henry. I don’t think anybody can say that.
“Everybody’s seen him play in the Premiership, the Champions League and the World Cup. So I don’t think I’ve got any secrets to give to the boys about him.
“He’s top class and he’s the best in the world — I’ve not got any answers to stop him. Everybody knows that over the course of 90 minutes we’ve just got to try our best and limit what he can do.”
