Spurs favourite excited at Figo prospectAccording to former Tottenham favourite Jamie Redknapp the possible arrival of Luis Figo in the Premiership can only be good for English football.
Sky Sports News claims Newcastle are firm favourites to sign Real Madrid winger Figo, as they plan for next season.
Redknapp told Sky Sports News: "I think it is fantastic to get people like Figo,
"He got slightly pushed out in the last few games at Real Madrid, but it would still be fantastic to have him in The Premiership.
"It would be brilliant. There is no doubt he is a top-draw player.
"For a little while, the Premier League was attracting a few players from the Spanish and Italian leagues not for the right reasons, but more for the end of their career.
"But now they all want to play over here for the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
"There's such great sides to be playing at and Newcastle will be having a right go now they have signed a couple of good players and Scott Parker is going to be a great signing for them."
