Sheringham wants consistencyHammers veteran Teddy Sheringham says he was surprised with the impressive 1-0 victory over his former club Manchester United this week but is hoping the team can maintain the same level of play every week.
"To be honest, I don't think we saw that coming," Teddy told the official West Ham website.
"It's a fantastic feeling whenever you win, but to beat a team like Manchester United - the Premiership leaders who were unbeaten for so many games beforehand - is a tremendous achievement.
"It just shows what happens when we stick together, get a couple of breaks, and dig in to get the result. To beat a top team like United, you need to have everyone in the team performing at eight, nine or even 10 out of 10. No one gave less than an eight on Sunday and it was a fantastic team performance.
He added: "It's amazing, though, that we've beaten Man United and Arsenal this season and yet are still in the bottom three,"
"We now need to raise our game in the same way against the teams who are near us in the table, and make sure we pick up points from the games over Christmas."
