Savage getting fed upBlackburn midfielder Robbie Savage is fed up with being branded the most hated player in the Premiership.
Blackburn’s Carling Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford tonight see's an explosive reunion with Wayne Rooney and Alan Smith following their first-leg bust-up.
The Welsh midfielder was booked for grabbing Rooney by the throat after being floored by a wild Smith challenge and was later accused of ‘trying to smash opponents’ legs’ by Bolton star Stelios.
Despite fuelling his bad-boy image with nine yellow cards this term, Savage says his reputation is beginning to wear him down.
He said: “Of course I get fed up with being seen as the bad guy whenever there’s an incident.
“But any fair-minded person can see I’ve been more sinned against than the sinner recently.”
Savage added: “I’m playing for a great club under a man for whom I have utmost respect and as a result I’m keeping my head down.
“But I will never change. Not a chance. My game is my game.”
