Savage clears up spitting rowRobbie Savage has confirmed that Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz did not deliberately spit at him.
The Blackburn midfielder reacted angrily to an incident during Rovers 1-0 Carling Cup victory over Middlesbrough on Wednesday.
But Savage told Rovers' website: "There was no way it was intentional.
"He came over shouting at me and I was caught by something from his mouth. There was no way he intended it."
Savage, who reacted angrily at the time, added: "He apologised, I accepted and we shook hands."
