Rovers want Neill, Emerton signaturesBlackburn manager Mark Hughes has reiterated his eagerness to tie up Australian’s Lucas Neill and Brett Emerton to the club.
Hughes said: "We have offered both of them new contracts and we hope they will both accept,"
"It is my intention for them to stay but we will need an indication from both guys which way they are thinking.
"In the next couple of weeks I hope we will get that indication so we will know what we are doing."
The Socceroo World Cup stars have both been linked with other clubs but no official approach has been made for either player during the off-season according to Hughes.
"No one from Middlesbrough has contacted me about Brett, but there is always speculation when guys are going into the last year of their contracts," said Hughes.
"That is the case with the two Australian guys. But I am confident, we have offered them good deals and are hopeful they will accept."
Both players are in the final year of their respective deals at Blackburn and could move for free at the end of the season if no contracts have been signed.
