Roeder to wait for Owen returnNewcastle United manager Glenn Roeder will not rush Micheal Owen back into his first team despite the England star scoring on his long awaited reserve team comeback.
Roeder said: “The medical staff and I were very happy and pleased at what we saw and obviously Michael is getting closer to playing.
“The same applies to Shola Ameobi who has done tremendously well to get in the position he is in after his hip operation.
“Both of them will be extremely tired. Now it is just a case of waiting to see how things turn out.”
