Roeder happy with starNewcastle boss Glen Roeder has spoken of his delight to see former England international Scott Parker back in training.
Parker, 25, was ruled out of the last two months of the season after being diagnosed with glandular fever.
Roeder said: "It was particularly nice to see Scotty Parker back, and he has already got through quite a lot of running.
"He looks full of energy, and it is great to see him back after glandular fever.
"He had a hugely successful and consistent first season, and we are looking forward to what his second season at Newcastle will bring.
"Scotty is the type of player that a manager values and the big quality he has is that I can trust him on and off the field.
"You have to give credit to Graeme Souness because he signed Scotty, and he has turned out to be a great signing for the club."
