Riquleme looking to returnArgentine International, Juan Roman Riquelme, has spoken this week of his desire to see Villarreal back amongst Europe’s elite clubs again.
The ‘Yellow Submarine’ failed to qualify for Europe this season and Riquelme, expressing his frustration at the thought of having to watch Champions League games on television revealed, “It has not even started yet and already I feel the disappointment of not taking part.”
However, he has no intention of abandoning the club, as he declared, “It will not be easy but we must try to make the grade next season. Villarreal belongs in the upper echelons of European football.”
Regarding this Sunday’s La Liga fixture against Recreativo Huelva, Riquelme is expected to shrug off the injury problems that he has been suffering from recently and assume his position in the middle of the park.
