Rijkaard makes public pleaFrank Rijkaard has made a public plea to the Barcelona board over the futures of star duo Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o.
On local radio yesterday, Rijkaard said: "Ronaldinho and Eto'o, they are fundamental players and I also believe that a club must value its future and protect itself by keeping its players happy.
"It is a normal action and I believe that the time is suitable to make this happen."
Rijkaard also declared he wants midfielder Gerard signed to a new deal. The Spanish international is off contract in June.
He said: "Gerard has been a player of Barça for many years and I believe that the club must speak with him, because he deserves it. Surely we are going to speak with him and it is important to find the best thing for both parties."
