Rijkaard explains Puyol omission

Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard has revealed that it was his decision to leave Spain international Carles Puyol out of the starting line-up against Osasuna and was not because the star was injured.

Rijkaard said: "There was no problem with Puyol. He is not injured.

"It is part of a rotation policy to give all players their time on the pitch.

"He remains being club captain."
