Richards ready to workManchester City starlet Micah Richards is preparing to undergo a vigorous rehabilitation this summer.
Richards, 18, told he told the City magazine: "The operation means I won't get as much rest or as much of a holiday as I wanted, but I needed to clear up the problem in time for next season,"
"I did have a couple of holidays planned, but the operation means I might have to reschedule those, because I need to come into Carrington and get things right before I go away anywhere."
He added: "On a personal level, I don't think things could have gone much better for me, (last season)"
"Obviously I had a little bit of luck when Gary Neville picked up an injury and that gave me the opportunity to play for England.
"If he had stayed fit, I could have just remained as a squad player, but I hope I took it on my debut against Holland.
"Whatever has happened in the last 12 months, it could get even better in the next 12. Being an England regular and playing for City's first team are my aims.
"People might say I've done really well to get where I am, but I look at what I have to do to kick on again and move up to the next level."
