Queudrue sets record straightFrench defender Franck Queudrue insists he wants to stay at Middlesbrough.
He confirmed to leading French football publication But! that he would consider moving to bolster his international ambitions - as a place in the French squad has so far alluded him during his time with Boro.
However, he now insists that he was misquoted - despite admitting he could check about Liverpool's prospects with fellow countrymen Djimi Traore and Bruno Cheyrou.
The full back said: "I was talking to one of the French papers and the reporter asked me if I thought I hadn't been selected for France because I wasn't playing for a club which was very well known in France.
"He asked me if I thought I would have a better chance if I was playing for a club like Liverpool or Manchester United, or Paris St Germain, who get headlines every week in France.
"I admitted that I would. But it has come back straight in my face.
"I never said that I wanted to move to any of these other clubs.
"I am under contract at Middlesbrough until 2008."
