Pearce backs calamity JamesUnder-fire England keeper David James has been defended by Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce.
After James produced a disastrous display as a second-half substitute in England's 4-1 capitulation against Denmark on Wednesday, Pearce said: "It has always been that way with David, people pick up on any mistake he makes,
"But all I am concerned about is what he does for us on Saturday and he has not let me down yet."
Pearce added: "David plays in a position where you can't hide but he's a big enough man, he will deal with it and I'm sure it will not be a problem for him.
"The big players, and make no mistake he is one of them, all bounce back and they bounce back stronger.
"I have seen that from David before when he has been under the spotlight and I am expecting a big game for him on Saturday."
