O'Neill praises veteran SuttonAston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has praised the performances of veteran striker Chris Sutton.
"I don't know whether some supporters doubted Chris Sutton because of his injuries or because he had played for Birmingham," said O'Neill.
"Even now, if he felt he wasn't contributing, he would leave. But if he stays fit, he will be a big asset to us over the next few months and has already made an important contribution.
"He is a really talented player and intelligent player. We won't have him forever more, but he will be good for us."
O'Neill added: "Chris is not the sort who will step into a dressing room and in one minute become the life and soul of the party. He takes a bit of time to weigh things up.
"But when he gets to know the people then he opens up. Sutton was a major player in the dressing room as well as on the field at Celtic.
"It will have taken the players a wee while to get used to Chris's ways, but he will not be a malevolent influence on these players. Absolutely not. He will be a good influence."
