Newcastle sweating on keeperNewcastle United manager Glenn Roeder cannot believe the luck goalkeeper Shay Given has had this season after he was injured against West Ham on the weekend.
"He will have a scan on Monday morning," said Roeder.
"It's hard to find the words to describe somebody who hardly ever missed a game in five seasons but suffered a shocking injury, ironically, at West Ham that required an operation, and now he has damaged his groin.
"We are just fortunate to have a goalkeeper in Steve Harper who is undoubtedly of Premiership class, but we just hope Shay is not going to be out a long time."
