Newcastle star backs Duff to shineNewcastle United star Shay Given has backed compatriot Damien Duff to be a hit at the club after the confirmation of his signing from Chelsea was announced yesterday.
Given said: “It was difficult for Duffer not to be playing every week and he is hungry to prove a few people wrong at Chelsea.
“And I think he will do. He is really desperate to do well. He has not had a good run of games at Chelsea. It’s never easy when you’re in and out of the team to get your fitness and sharpness up.
“When he gets a good run in the team here, we will see a fantastic player.”
