Newcastle in for Lyon midfielder

Reports are today suggesting that Newcastle United have entered the race to sign former Liverpool midfielder Alou Diarra from Lyon.

Portsmouth were believed to be close to signing the £6million France international but he could be on his way to Tyneside now that Sam Allardyce has expressed his interest.
