Moyes praises livewire McFaddenEverton manager David Moyes is hoping James McFadden is finally going to live up to the massive expectations he set when he moved to Goodison Park three years ago.
He said: “There were a lot of big things expected from James when he came down from Scotland and to be fair we expected them as well.
“I thought we took the most promising young player in Scotland at that time and in his first couple of games he was unbelievable.
“He’s a bit of a Scottish dribbler but he has had to develop into a team player. You can’t come down here and have a ball to yourself.
“Faddy’s got to make his decisions better — but he has certainly got the talent and ability. If he can pull them together and make the right decisions then he’s a really talented footballer.
“He has made strides in that respect. We don’t want to take that individuality out of him — but he has got to know where and when the right time is to use it.
“He hasn’t played that much this season because of the team we are playing but he also had an injury early on with Scotland and then he was sent off against Arsenal.
“But he’s matured and can improve if he keeps on doing so. He can make you get out of your seat and he has to make sure once he does that, he finishes with the right decision at the end of it.”
