Milan sign £17.2m striker

Italy striker Alberto Gilardino has finally made the switch from Parma to AC Milan for a fee in the region of £17.2m.

The much-touted transfer was concluded after an ultimatum from Milan president Adriano Galliani and a flurry of last-minute negotiations.

Gilardino has signed a five-year deal at the San Siro.
