Middlesbrough star in positive talksDutch midfielder George Boateng is though to be close to signing a new long-term deal at Middlesbrough.
The 30-year-old is widely regarded as being Boro's best performer in recent seasons and has been rewarded with a recall to the Dutch national squad.
Boateng's representative Sigi Lens has told Sky Sports that a positive outcome from contract talks now looks increasingly likely.
Lens said: "We are still talking and hopefully something will be done by the end of this month or the beginning of December,
"Nothing was happening at first, but now we are talking positively and are closer than ever.
"As I said something should be in place by the start of December, but almost certainly it will be in done before January.
"The club are keen for George to stay, the fans love him and George has always said he wants to stay with the club."
