McCann ready for West BromVilla midfielder Gavin McCann is set to answer any call from manager David O'Leary to play in Sunday's derby against West Brom.
The former Sunderland star has not featured for the Midlands club since January after undergoing surgery on his knee.
There were fears that McCann could miss the rest of the season due to the problem but he featured for Villa's reserves against former club Sunderland on Wednesday evening.
McCann said: "It is great to be out there playing again,
"If the gaffer wants me to be involved on Sunday then I'll be ready but that's not my decision, it's up to him.
"I've missed nine or ten games and I'm short of match fitness. The frustrating thing is I'll be back to full sharpness when the season is coming to an end."
