Lyon to announce new striker

In a press conference scheduled for today, Lyon will announce the signing of striker John Carew from Turkish outfit Besiktas.

In a brief statement on the club's official website the club confirmed that a press conference will take place involving Carew, new coach Gerard Houllier and president Jean-Michel Aulas.

Former Valencia striker Carew spent yesterday in Lyon discussing terms with the Ligue 1 champions.
