Lundekvam says sorry to fansSouthampton defender Claus Lundekvam has apologised to the 2,500 fans who made the 500-mile round trip to see their team thumped 3-0 at Blackburn last weekend.
Lundekvam and his team-mates held a long inquest into Saturday’s abject display and are determined to make amends against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Norwegian defender, 32, said: “A performance like that should never happen — but especially in our current situation.
“I don’t know where it came from because we have been playing well.
“Our work-rate should be better and the commitment should be better.
“I feel sorry for the fans because they were superb and they deserve a lot better than we produced.”
