Liverpool star returns Jose fireLiverpool playmaker Luis Garcia has told Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho that he will eat his words come the end of the upcoming season.
Garcia, 28, was responding to a claim by the Chelsea boss that Liverpool had no chance of catching his side in the Premiership this season.
He said: “Why shouldn’t we believe we can catch Chelsea and win the Premiership title this season?
“We beat them in two semis and that was not lucky. Last year Chelsea had the strongest, most consistent team and were worthy champions.
“But in each of my first two years at Liverpool I have won a trophy, in the Champions League and the FA Cup. This year I’d like the title.”
He added: “To catch Chelsea we must be more consistent. We lost too many points last season away and that made all the difference.
"But if we improve our away form, then everyone will see the difference that makes this time.”
“We haven’t peaked yet. We’re improving and will be difficult to beat this year.”
Striker Peter Crouch added: “We haven’t said a single thing about Chelsea.
“If he’s(Mourinho) talking about us we’re obviously on his mind. When the season starts we’ll show what we’re about.”
