Liverpool star ready for title tiltFit again Liverpool midfielder Bolo Zenden has expressed his belief in his team’s chances of winning the Premiership title this season.
He said: "I am being used now in a central midfield role, and that is perfect for me because I played there for Middlesbrough.
"I know what it takes to play there, even if I realise the really tough competition I will face in that role with the players we have here.
"But that's what you expect at a club like Liverpool, competition for every position. That's why we will be challenging for the league title, you can only do that if you have a lot of quality players fighting to get into the team."
"We have them in the middle, but we have that all over the pitch. But we play a lot of games so everyone will be challenging and hopefully everyone will get enough games during the season.
"For me the title is a realistic target. Last season we improved a lot. We ended up with 82 points and in any other league that would be enough to win the trophy.
"But England is different to elsewhere. Manchester United were one point ahead and Chelsea some distance away.
"But each season you want to do better than the one before, so why not this season for us? We will be giving it a real go but the most important thing being the start we have in the league.
"We must start well and keep into a rhythm and put pressure on the clubs who finished above us last season.
"We want to win trophies. Last season it was the FA Cup, and obviously we are eager to win the league because it has been a long time since the club have done that.
"That will be our focus, even if we know there will be a few more teams with the same aim. But we must think only of ourselves."
