Liverpool midfielder on trial

Liverpool has given permission to midfielder Salif Diao to trial with Charlton.

The Senegalese international who spent last season on-loan at Portsmouth will play for the Addicks against Hibernian with an eye on a permanent deal being offered at The Valley.

Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said: 'Salif has been given permission to play for Charlton in Tuesday's friendly game against Hibernian.'
