Kanoute discusses Ramos link

Sevilla striker Fredi Kanoute says he is happy at Sevilla despite reports linking him with a return to Tottenham following the arrival of Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane.

He said: "My situation is that I have a contract here. After this season I have two seasons left so there is absolutely no hurry for me.

"I don't believe in the contact with Tottenham because I don't think it's true. At the moment I'm at Sevilla and I'm enjoying the football here.

"I will continue here. I don't know how long for, but I have a contract here, so I will see."

On the sudden departure of former Sevilla boss Jande Ramos, he added: "I knew Tottenham were interested in Ramos, but I didn't know it would happen so quickly,"

"Maybe I expected it at the end of the season, but it happened quicker.

"He is more a coach than a manager. In England they make that difference more than in other countries.

"For example, he's not the type of man that likes to talk much to the media. He just likes to do his job the way he knows best.

"That's why I think he was suited very nicely to Sevilla because this is a team that plays with amenity and works hard. He was the perfect guy for this club.

"He can adapt to any kind of game. What I realised with him is he likes to adapt to the opponents we are playing against. I think he's a clever man and he won't have any problems adjusting.

"Since I arrived here he has always given me the confidence I needed. He told me I have to play how I know best and he also gave me freedom on the pitch to do whatever I want."
