Inter players defend violent fansInter Milan stars Juan Sebastian Veron and Ivan Cordoba have amazingly ‘defended’ the fans that forced the abandonment of the Milan derby.
The Inter duo believe that referee Markus Merk’s decision to disallow an Esteban Cambiasso goal was the reason behind the actions of the supporters.
Veron said: "It isn’t right what the fans did but you can understand it,
"I don’t know what the referee saw because I thought it was a goal."
Cordoba, who ironically applauded Merk after he abandoned the game, added: "The reaction of the fans was more than comprehensible after Merk didn’t give us the goal.
"I can’t say anything to the fans because we couldn’t deliver what they were expecting from us.
"My hand clap? It was an instinctive reaction and not an insult. I’m just still asking myself why Cambiasso’s goal was ruled out."
