Friedel facing fitness battleBlackburn Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel could be ruled out of the match against Middlesbrough this weekend after he suffered a dead leg during the 1-0 victory over Liverpool on Boxing Day.
Friedel said: “I hope to be fit. A dead leg is much more of a problem for an outfield player than a goalkeeper. That’s why I opted to stay on the pitch.
“The 1-0 victory over Liverpool showed we do have character in the dressing room and hopefully now it will be onwards and upwards. It’s a massive game against Boro.”
