French defender set for EPL return?Rangers full-back Olivier Bernard is officially on trial with newly promoted Sheffield United after being overlooked by new manager Paul Le Guen.
"If I show enough character and desire I might get back in the team (at Rangers), you never know," he said after turning out for United in their pre-season win at Morton.
"But at the same time if the club (Sheffield United) want me, if I can prove myself to another club, then why not?
"I'm not looking for anything but at the same time I just want to play football - it's a difficult situation."
United manager Neil Warnock said: "We had to get special dispensation, I think because he's in Scotland it was easier for us,"
"Whether we can play him in England or not I don't know.
"But I'll be having a chat, I wouldn't write it off, he's done reasonably well here. He's fitted in well with the lads.
"But I wouldn't want to make a judgement straight away because before this morning I wasn't aware of his situation and we're already talking to one or two in a similar position."
