Former Gunner disappointed with new startFormer Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires has talked of his disappointment regarding his Villarreal debut after the Champions League semi-finalists of last season fell to a shock 2-1 defeat to NK Maribor in the Intertoto Cup.
Pires said: "For me, this was a bad debut especially in a physical aspect because we have only been working the last 10 days,"
"But we will be better prepared for the second match and it is possible to qualify for the next round.
"The match was very difficult because of the heat, but after the goal from Diego Forlan we have wasted several chances for 2-1, but the team was without fortune in attack.
"In Maribor, our unique objective will be to win and with many goals."
