Fletcher risks the wrath of FergieScotland international midfielder Darren Fletcher says he is ready to play under an injury cloud for his country and risk the wrath of his Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Fletcher was rated doubtful for Saturday's 2-0 win over Moldova and despite aggravating his hamstring was able to play the full match.
Ferguson is aware that injury hampered Fletcher's form at Old Trafford last season and so the United manager will not be too pleased to hear that the player has already told Walter Smith he is ready to play in Wednesday's match against Belarus.
Fletcher said: "'Don't get injured' was the main message from Sir Alex because my season really suffered the last time,
"I've been in the same situation before and it ruined the start of this season for me. It's all part and parcel of international football.
"I chipped the bone in my ankle in the game against Trinidad & Tobago and missed all the pre-season for this season and because of that my form suffered.
"But I think especially if it's a competitive game and you're available and even only 70 per cent then you've still got to play."
