Finnan looking to stayDefender Steve Finnan says he wants to stay at Liverpool and help the club challenge for honours.
Finnan looked set to depart Anfield last summer following the signing of Josemi, but the player stayed and he has now established himself as a key member of Rafa Benitez's side.
He said: "I'm certainly playing in the best level of football in my career,
"It's difficult to say if it is the best I've played, that's for others to say, but I'm happy with the way it's going and I have never played in the Champions League or cup finals before.
"You do settle more the longer you are at a club but there is no guarantee that says you will get better every year.
"I'm really happy here, it's a big club and I want to stay. It's good when you get the taste of a cup final like we did recently against Chelsea, that gives you more reason to stay because you want to do it again.
"The Champions League too, I want more of that.
"When the manager came he wasn't going to change things overnight but he has brought in new players and I am sure there will be more changes in the summer, but I still want to be here."
