Ferguson identifies CudiciniBritish tabloid, The People says Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has identified Carlo Cudicini as the £5million man to solve his team's goalkeeping problems.
Cudicini, who joined Chelsea on loan from Castel di Sangro in 1999 before signing permanently the following year, is reluctant to quit Blues but wants to be playing first-team football, and a move to Manchester United will give him the chance to resurrect his career.
Chelsea are unlikely to stand in the way of Cudicini, who has a contract until 2008 at Stamford Bridge, although they are wary of selling him to one of their big rivals as they do not want the move to come back and haunt them.
