FA to investigate incidentThe Football Association are planning to investigate allegations of a bust up in the tunnel involving Aston Villa and Birmingham players during their fierce derby clash on Sunday despite suggestions from Blues officials that the matter had been dealt with.
The brawl allegedly began in the tunnel at half time after Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie became angry with comments made by Blues defender Mario Melchiot sparking a confrontation between the sides that was quickly broken up.
'An incident is not mentioned in the referee's report and we believe that is the end of the matter,” a Birmingham spokesman said.
