Everton star begins long roadAlessandro Pistone has started his road to recovery following knee reconstruction surgery and is expected to be back in action for Everton by April.
The Italian had the operation at the Colorado centre of Dr Richard Steadman last week and has stayed in the US to start his recovery programme.
Everton physio Matt Connery accompanied Pistone to the US, and on his return this week said: "It was a successful trip. Alessandro has had his anterior cruciate ligament reconstructed now.
"It was the second operation he has undergone and the operation went according to plan and very smoothly."
