Everton are now the benchmarkEverton’s incredible Euro charge has given hope to the whole Premiership according to Blackburn midfielder David Thompson.
Thompson, a boyhood fan of the Blues, returned to the Blackburn side which threw a spanner in their Champions League dream on Sunday.
However, Thompson believes that Everton’s astonishing season on a shoestring is proof that you do not need to break the bank.
He insisted: “Everton are doing it with hard work and shrewd buying.
“They’re a benchmark for the rest of us.”
