Elliot to step inNewcastle defender Robbie Elliot is set for a dramatic UEFA Cup return to help ease his club’s injury crisis.
Elliot was expected to miss the rest of the season after knee surgery in January but is penciled in to face Sporting Lisbon in tomorrow’s quarter-final as Jean-Alain Boumsong
is cup-tied while Titus Bramble and Celestine Babayaro are injured.
Elliott said: “Things are going well and I’m back quicker than I thought.”
