A statement on Dudek’s official website read: "Congratulations to Poland and Ukraine! Nothing's impossible in today's world!"
"I hoped that Cardiff would be a lucky place for us like in the past, when I achieved great results with Polish national team in the capital of Wales.
"It was a very difficult decision for Uefa to make. I am very happy we were chosen to host Euro 2012. It's amazing.
"Now we have to work hard and give 100 per cent not to disappoint. The Championship can be a great event remembered by fans around the world for many, many years.
"Once again congratulations! I am very happy and proud. It is worth believing in miracles. If you believe in something really strong, you can achieve it."
