Downing: I’ve provedMiddlesbrough flanker Stewart Downing is happy with his recent form for the club and thinks he is starting to prove his critics wrong.
He said: "It’s not nice when things are said about you, especially when people say you’re not trying. Nothing could be further from the truth.
"I hope I’ve proved a few people wrong by showing them I can play.
"I want to do it week in, week out. You can talk a good game but you’ve got to go out and deliver.
"Your best talking is done on the pitch and that’s where I’ll do mine."
