City stars not guaranteed spotManchester City manager Stuart Pearce has warned the stars in his team to perform consistently or risk being dropped from the starting line up.
Pearce said: "Towards the end of last season, we were down to the bare bones when we lost Joey and Claudio Reyna to injury. When they were both fit, they picked themselves and that can’t be right.
"You can’t have automatic choices in any position but we now have competition and that gives me the option of changing formations.
"Didi and Dabo operate in positions that are the heart of any football team because central midfield is where games are won and lost."
